Cardinals, Bishops and 63 clergy, etc. walk off free!

Sure, I'm also tired of harping about the clerical sex abuse scandals. But I must and will regardless of who does not like it. And, NO, I am not "contributing to the attacks" on the much maligned and scape-goated clergy who are misidentified as perps of child sex abuse. These scandals are about perverted pedophiles and sexually retarded ephebophiles -- all of them in denial. It has little, if anything, to do about gay priests. (Rather, show me a holier-than-thou closet case and I'll show you a guy with skeletons in it.)

However, something just happened which upsets me bigtime. I can not ignore this shameful travesty since I doubt if you will hear or read about it upfront: A grand jury finally determined yesterday that hierarchs of the RC Archdiocese of Philadelphia, including two cardinals, covered up sexual abuse by more than five dozen (63) priests for over four decades and then subjected innocent youths to their predatory behaviors! This carefully investigated and much awaited grand jury report was three years in the making...

And now they ALL walk away scott free! None of these cardinals (one deceased), archbishops, bishops, other prelates, priests and diocesan officials will be charged. Sadly, the District Attorney in those cases is unable to bring charges because the statute of limitations on the various alleged crimes had expired. And charges can't be brought against the Archdiocese either because it is an unincorporated association rather than a corporation.

Still, at least three of the alleged victims, all former altar boys, will cite this special grand jury report in their civil cases against the respondents. They will also argue that because the Archdiocese actively worked in concert to cover up the priests abuse, any statutes of limitation should not apply.

I will continue to pray and work for justice in ALL their cases. God and His little ones will NOT be mocked!
